Survey for International Students in Carinthia

Dear students, this survey is aimed at international students at Carinthian universities. The goal is to capture your experiences and challenges during your studies in order to better understand and improve the integration and long-term retention of international students. Your responses are anonymous and confidential.

At the end of the survey, you will have the opportunity to enter our lottery for a chance to win 5 x € 10 Amazon Gift Cards. Participation in the lottery is entirely optional and will not affect your survey responses.

The record of your survey responses does not contain any identifying information about you, unless a specific survey question explicitly asked for it.

If you used an identifying access code to access this survey, please rest assured that this code will not be stored together with your responses. It is managed in a separate database and will only be updated to indicate whether you did (or did not) complete this survey. There is no way of matching identification access codes with survey responses.

Privacy policy

Below you will find information on the data protection–compliant handling of your personal data.

Data collected in the course of this study:

  • Personal data, such as age, gender and home district

  • Survey data regarding your experiences and challenges as an international student

Use of anonymized data:
The data will be stored in anonymized form on a data carrier by deleting and/or rendering all personal identifiers unrecognizable or by not collecting them in the first place. What remains is a fully anonymous dataset of study responses. Please note that, once anonymized, it is no longer possible to delete your personal record, since it can no longer be linked back to you. You may request deletion of your personal data immediately after the study is completed. Anonymized data will be deleted after a retention period of 10 years.

Lottery:
All information provided for the lottery will be processed and stored entirely separately from survey responses, ensuring participant anonymity and full compliance with applicable data protection regulations.

Your rights with respect to your personal data

Pursuant to Article 13(2)(b) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:

  • Access (Art. 15 GDPR), including a free copy of your data

  • Rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), if data are incorrect or incomplete

  • Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), as long as no statutory retention requirement prevents it

  • Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)

  • Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)

  • Object to use of your data for purposes beyond this study
