Data protection
Concerning the data collected and processed about you within the framework of this study, a fundamental distinction must be made between
- personal data by which you can be directly identified (e.g. name, date of birth, address, ...),
- pseudonymised (encrypted) personal data, in which all information that allows direct conclusions to be drawn about your identity is replaced by a code (e.g. a number). This means that the data can no longer be attributed to you personally without additional information and without disproportionate effort, and
- anonymised data can no longer be traced back to your person.
The encryption code is kept strictly from the encrypted data records and without access to the Internet. Only the researchers will have access to your non-encrypted data. The data is protected against unauthorised access. Data will be passed on to the Carinthian University of Applied Sciences for data evaluation in pseudonymised form. Only the anonymised data will be used for any publications.
All persons who have access to your encrypted and non-encrypted data are subject to the Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO) and the Austrian adaptation regulations in the currently valid version when handling the data.
In the context of the questionnaire, no transfer of data to countries outside the EU is intended.
You can revoke your consent to collect and process your data anytime. After your revocation, no further data will be collected about you. The data collected up to the time of cancellation will be deleted.
Based on the legal requirements, you also have the right to inspect the data concerning you and the possibility to correct it if you discover any errors.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint about handling your data with the Austrian data protection authority (www.dsb.gv.at).
One year after the end of the study (November 2024), the encryption data will be deleted, thus making it impossible to trace the data back to you personally.
If you have any questions about handling your data in this project, please contact the researchers first. If necessary, they can forward your request to the persons responsible for data protection at the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences.
